  • Event Response: Press the doorbell button to complete your settings change.

Name: Camera name. You can edit the name by tapping the text window here, or in the Home screen.

Battery: Shows if your battery power is OK. The doorbell uses 2, Size AA Lithium non-rechargeable batteries. Only use these batteries when replacing. If you feel the batteries are running out too quickly, please contact Blink support.

Enable Motion Detection: On - Off (default)
Shows if your camera will be active for motion detection when the system it's attached to gets armed. The Blink Video Doorbell can manage its own system, making arm and disarm actions affect just the one device. When armed, movement starts recording a motion clip, or sends an alert, according to the "Enable Video Recording" option described below.

When the doorbell is connected to a Sync Module, all devices on that Sync Module system are "armed" or "disarmed". Each camera on an armed system responds to its own individual settings. This is also true for scheduled arm and disarm.

To have the doorbell 'always on' for motion detection, add it to a Sync Module or connect to compatible powered wiring from a chime.  , do not add other devices that require a schedule. When a system is 'Armed' manually, or by a schedule, all devices that are enabled for motion detection are active.

ZonesBeta: (not available in Event Response‍)
You can set multiple Activity Zones that do not respond to motion, and two Privacy Zones that tell the camera firmware to not receive video from those areas. Activity Zones can help prevent unwanted motion clips.

Retrigger Time: The length of time from the completion of one motion clip to the start of another. This can be set from 10 seconds (default) to 60 seconds.

Sensitivity: Controls motion sensor sensitivity.
Low sensitivity detects larger objects in motion. High sensitivity detects smaller objects. Adjust sensitivity then test by creating motion alerts to achieve the right balance for your needs.

Clip Length: The length of motion clips to be recorded; this can be set between 5 seconds (default) and 30 seconds.

End Clip Early If Motion Stops: If the camera stops detecting motion, the clip will end before the full clip length is reached.

In Event Response, you have 60 seconds to tap a notification and enter Live View.

Smart Watches and other devices follow their own notification settings.

Two controls adjust the light source for viewing in the dark.

Control: If set to Off, the infrared LED will not turn on. If set to On, the infrared LED will always turn on. If set to Auto (default), the infrared LED will only turn on in low light conditions.

IR Intensity: This value controls brightness of the infrared LED. This value can be set to Low, Medium (default), or High. Adjust to control glare or show more detail.

Enable Audio: On (default) - Off   This setting controls the doorbell speaker.

Speaker Volume slider:  controls how loud the doorbell speaker is.

Ringer Volume slider:  controls how loud the Blink chime sound plays.

Enable Video Recording: On (default) - Off
With this setting, you can control if video is recorded with motion alerts. When set to "Off", you receive motion alerts and no video is saved.

Quality: Saver - Standard (default) - Best
The Quality setting changes the resolution of your image and the amount of battery power used for each clip.

  • Saver - 360p
  • Standard - 720p
  • Best - 1080p

Enable: On (default) - Off      Subscription Only

If the doorbell is "Armed" and Photo Capture is On, a photo is taken and stored once per hour. If no Motion Alerts or other events happen, a video is created at the end of the day and sent to your Clip Roll in the Blink app.

When a doorbell press or motion event occurs, any images taken up to then are made into a video and sent to your Clip Roll. After the motion event is complete, Photo Capture begins again.

To only receive a video of hourly pictures at the end of the day, "Arm" the system, set Photo Capture "On" and turn Motion Recording "Off" either in the settings or by tapping the "Running Man" icon  above the camera thumbnail on the home screen.

Photo Capture is available in Event Response if you have an active Blink Subscription Plan.
