This article will show you how to enable the infrared (IR) LED on Blink cameras. The IR LED's shine a light you cannot see, but your camera is able to show clear images in low, or no-light situations.
Note: Placing your camera on a deep ledge, or beside any reflective surface can result in glare that would impact image quality. Click the link for more information on camera placement.
1. To access any Camera Settings screen, tap the camera settings icon located above the camera's thumbnail on the Blink app Home screen.
2. Scroll down the settings screen, to find the "NIGHT VISION" section, shown below.
3. Turn the IR LED on, off, or set it to automatically turn on when light is low. You can also adjust the "IR Intensity", or how 'bright' the infrared light is.
IR Controls
"Off", the IR LED never turns on, night images appear dark.
"On", the IR LED is always on, and all clips appear black and white.
"Auto", the IR LED turns on when the visible light is low, such as at night.
Intensity
Changing the intensity adjusts brightness of the IR illumination. This value can be set to Low, Medium, or High, to affect glare or which objects can be seen clearly in the dark.
