What to Expect from Your Blink Camera

Your Blink camera is loaded with great features and will prove to be a valuable asset to your home security. It’s important to understand; however, what your camera provides.

Highlights include:

  • Motion detection
  • Live view
  • 1080p video resolution
  • Night vision
  • Two-Way Audio
  • Various storage options for recorded clips
  • Alexa and IFTTT integration

Blink cameras can monitor areas inside or outside your property up to 20 feet, and send motion alerts with corresponding recordings, all viewable from a smartphone or tablet. They can also provide live views with two way audio communication (Blink Wired Floodlight, Indoor and Outdoor (3rd Gen), XT2 & Mini cameras). The length of recorded clips and live views are limited up to 60 seconds, with the ability to extend up to five minutes by tapping on the pop-up "Continue" button, or automatically when integrated with an Alexa device.

Info

Blink Subscription Plans enable many premium features including Extended Live View! This new feature provides images and sound directly from a Mini to the Blink app, up to 90 minutes at a time without user intervention. In addition, you can view regular Live View sessions up to five minutes without tapping on "Continue". Click here to learn more.

Blink cameras, when powered by batteries, benefit from these shorter video time-frames since the battery life is greatly increased. Battery powered cameras also offer greater flexibility of placement. These cameras are not meant to provide CCTV feeds or serve as baby monitors; however, if you need to monitor motion or view live video at intervals, Blink cameras are right for the job!
