The Sync Module 2 is our latest control unit that manages communications between your Blink devices and our secure servers. Now with a port for your thumb drive, you can save Clip Backups or use Local Storage.
A system is managed by a Sync Module and can include up to ten devices. You should set up a Sync Module first, then attach Blink devices by selecting the Sync Module system during installation. The Blink Video Doorbell and Mini camera can create and manage their own system, or you can choose a Sync Module system during setup for group scheduling and other features.

Clips are named according to the time that the file was saved on the Blink server. Blink servers use Coordinated Universal Time, or UTC. When these same clips appear in the Blink app, you see the corrected time for your device's time zone. When the drive is full, no more clips are saved. You must remove clips either in the Blink app, or manually, on a computer.
When you access the USB drive on a computer, the filenames are still in UTC, so apply the time difference to find a certain clip. For instance, US Eastern Standard Time is 5 hours 'earlier' than UTC. If you were looking for a clip that occurred at 5pm local time, the filename would show "2200", or 10pm UTC.
When you first insert a USB drive, the formatting is checked and you are asked permission to reformat the drive if necessary. You can grant permission, or you can remove the drive from the sync module and reformat the drive on your computer.
Filename Conventions
Clip Backups are found on the USB drive in the blink_backup folder. The image below shows a file explorer.

Local Storage clips are found on the USB drive in the blink folder. The image below shows a file explorer.
This folder contains clips from eligible cameras.
This folder indicates a two digit year "21" for 2021, and two-digit month "05" for May.
