Is a Sync Module required for use?

No, Mini 4K+ connects directly to your Wi-Fi network and does not require a Sync Module. 

However, the camera is compatible with all Blink Sync Modules. For example, if you want to enable local storage, you can use a Sync Module 2, XR, or XR+ (memory cards sold separately).

Can it be added to my existing Blink system?

Yes, you can add Mini 4K+ to an existing Blink system during setup in the Blink app.

Is Wi-Fi required for setup?

How is it powered?

Mini 4K+ is a plug-in camera powered by the included 7.5W USB-C power supply and 2m USB-C cable. For outdoor use, the Blink Weather-Resistant Power Adapter (sold separately) is required.

Is it weather-resistant for outdoor use?

Mini 4K+ has an IP65 weather resistance rating when connected to the Blink Weather-Resistant Power Adapter (sold separately). The included indoor power adapter is not rated for outdoor use. Do not use Mini 4K+ outdoors without the weather-resistant adapter.

Can it be mounted on walls, ceilings, and flat surfaces?

Yes, Mini 4K+ can be mounted on walls or ceilings using the included mounting hardware. You can also place the camera free-standing on a flat surface like a countertop or shelf. For ceiling mounting, you can flip the video orientation in the Blink app by going to Device Settings > Video and Photo Settings > Flip Video.

Can it be used as a chime for my Blink Video Doorbell?

Yes, Mini 4K+ can act as a chime for a Blink Video Doorbell. Both devices must be on the same Blink system. To set this up, go to your Video Doorbell's Device Settings > Doorbell and Chime Settings > Use Blink Mini Camera as a Chime.

How do I turn on motion detection?

Motion detection is controlled by the Motion Detection toggle in the Blink app. Make sure your system is also armed for motion alerts to be sent. To turn on or adjust Motion Detection, go to your camera's Device Settings > Motion Settings. You can then toggle on Motion Detection or adjust the Motion Sensitivity slider.

How do sensitivity settings work in the Blink Mini 4K+?

You can adjust the motion detection range of your Mini 4K+ using the Motion Sensitivity slider in the Blink app. Lowering motion sensitivity reduces the detection range, which helps decrease false alerts. If the camera is missing motion events, try increasing motion sensitivity.

The Motion Sensitivity settings are:

• Off: Motion detection is disabled.
• Min: Detects motion at a shorter range.
• Medium: The default, balanced detection range suitable for most environments.
• Max: Detects motion at the maximum range (up to 14 m / 46 ft).

To adjust sensitivity:

1. In the Blink app, tap More (...) on your camera's thumbnail.
2. Tap Device Settings > Motion Settings.
3. Use the Motion Sensitivity slider to select Off, Min, Medium, or Max.

What Smart Detection features are available?

With a Blink Plan or no-cost trial, Mini 4K+ supports Smart Detection features like Person Detection and Vehicle Detection. 

With a plus ai or basic ai plan, the camera also supports ai features like Blink Video Descriptions, Unusual Activity Alerts, Single Event Alerts, and Known Faces.

Is color vision in low light supported?

Yes, Mini 4K+ can capture color video in low-light conditions down to 0.5 lux. In lighting lower than that, the camera automatically switches to infrared (IR) night vision mode. You can adjust IR intensity (Low, Medium, High) or change night vision settings in the Blink app under Device Settings > Video and Photo Settings > Night Vision.

Is two-way audio supported?

Yes, Mini 4K+ supports full-duplex two-way audio. This means you can speak and hear at the same time without cutting off the other side. The microphone includes echo cancellation and noise cancellation. Two-way audio is accessible from Live View in the Blink app.

What is Pre-roll?

Pre-roll captures video before a motion event is triggered. Because Mini 4K+ is always powered and connected, it can store a short buffer of footage and attach it to the beginning of a motion clip, so it shows what happened just before the event started. Pre-roll is available for motion-triggered clips only, not during Live View.

What storage options are available?

Mini 4K+ supports two storage options:

• Cloud storage: Clips are saved to the cloud with a Blink Subscription Plan or no-cost trial.
• Local storage: Clips can be saved locally to a USB drive connected to a compatible Blink Sync Module (sold separately).

What subscription plan options are available?

The Mini 4K+ includes a 30-day Blink Subscription Plus Plan no-cost trial. After the trial, you can choose between the plus ai, plus, basic ai, or basic plan for cloud storage and premium features.
