Setting Up Your Sync Module XR+

White Blink Sync Module XR+ with two integrated antennas

Getting started

If you're new to Blink, begin by downloading the Blink app and creating your account. Once you have completed these steps, you can proceed with setting up your Sync Module XR+.

If you are replacing an existing Sync Module with a Sync Module XR+, refer to replacing your existing Sync Module.

Sync Module XR+ is weather-resistant (IP-65 rated) when used with the Weather-Resistant Power Adapter (sold separately), making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. With Extended Range (available only in the United States and Canada), you can place up to ten Outdoor 4 cameras farther from the Sync Module.

Setting up your Sync Module

  1. Plug in your Sync Module XR+.
  2. From the Home Screen, tap the + icon in the upper-right corner.
  3. Tap Sync Module.
  4. Scan the QR code on the back of the device or tap Enter Serial Manually, then tap Continue. Once the serial number is recognized, select an available system to add your Sync Module.
  5. Once the Sync Module displays a blinking blue and solid green LED, tap Discover Device. If a different light pattern is displayed, refer to Understanding the LEDs on your Sync Module.
  6. You will be prompted to join the temporary Wi-Fi network ‘BLINK-xxxx’ (where ‘xxxx’ is the last four digits of your Sync Module’s serial number). Tap Join / Connect.
  7. From the list of available Wi-Fi networks, select your local Wi-Fi network. Enter the Wi-Fi password and tap Join. If your network does not appear, tap Refresh List. After tapping Join, the Sync Module may perform a firmware update, which can take a few moments. Do not unplug your Sync Module during this process.
    • Note: You'll have the option to securely save your Wi-Fi password to your Blink account for convenient access later. You can update or delete saved passwords by visiting Settings > Account & Privacy > Saved Passwords.
  8. Once the Sync Module has been successfully added to your system, a completion screen will appear. Tap Done.
