Deleting clips from a USB flash drive
The optional USB flash drive connected to your Sync Module 2 contains either Local Storage clips or Cloud Storage backup clips. Plug your flash drive into a PC to remove these clips and free up more storage space on the drive.
Note: Cloud Storage backup files cannot be viewed or deleted in the Blink app. Learn more by visiting accessing clips on your USB drive from a PC.
Automatic clip deletion
When you’re subscribing to a Blink Plan with Cloud Storage, clips automatically delete after a set period. The default auto-delete timeframe is 60 days, which means a clip automatically deletes from Cloud Storage after it is 60 days old. You can change the auto-delete period by following the instructions below.
Auto-delete is available if:
- You have a Blink Subscription Plan or a free trial
- Your account was activated by 15 April 2020
- You are using legacy Blink devices, such as the XT2, XT and Indoor (1st Gen)
Adjusting auto-delete settings
The default auto-delete period is set to 60 days, but it can be adjusted to 3, 7, 14 or 30 days (EU and UK users have a maximum of 30 days).
Note: If your Blink Subscription Plan has expired and you have started a new plan, your current auto-delete settings will carry over from your expired plan.
To change the duration before auto-deletion occurs, you have two options:
From App Settings
- From the Home screen, tap Settings > Device and System Settings > Cloud Clip Storage.
- Tap Auto Delete After and select the desired period to change your auto-delete period length.
From the Clip List
- From the Home screen, tap Clips.
- Scroll to the end of your Clip List and you’ll find Clips auto-delete after __ days (default is 60).
- If you have many clips saved, it may take some time to scroll to the end of your list.
- Tap Change.
- Select the desired period to change your auto-delete period length.
