Important: Complete the doorbell setup process in the Blink app before proceeding with installation.
Getting started
- Hardware: Included mounting screws and wall anchors.
-
Power tools: Electric drill along with two drill bits, the bit size depends on your installation surface:
- 3/32-inch (2.375 mm) bit: For drilling pilot holes for screws when installing on wood or softer surfaces.
- 7/32-inch (5.41 mm) bit: For drilling holes for wall anchors when installing on brick, stucco, concrete, or drywall requiring anchors.
- Basic tools: Phillips-head screwdriver and adhesive tape for securing the paper template provided in your kit.
Before you proceed with the installation and mounting process, review the following:
- Ensure setup is complete: Your doorbell must be set up in the Blink app before mounting.
- Identify a mounting location: Choose a location 40-48 inches (102-122 cm) above the floor.
- Clean the mounting surface: This will ensure a secure installation.
- Gather your materials: Have all hardware and tools ready.
Installing and mounting your doorbell
The Battery Doorbell 2K+ camera points straight out from the included mount. For installation on uneven or small surfaces, you should only use the top and bottom mounting holes. When using all mounting holes, be careful not to over-tighten the middle screw. While a gap between the back plate and doorbell won't affect performance, you can try slightly loosening the middle screw to eliminate any gaps that may appear.
If the included mount doesn't provide the desired viewing angle, consider two alternative mounts (sold separately) that offer additional adjustment options:
- Corner Mount: If you need to adjust the horizontal angle, the mount offers a 25° tilt to the left or right.
- Wedge Mount: If you need to adjust the vertical angle, the mount provides a 5° vertical tilt, allowing you to tilt the camera slightly up or down.
These mounting accessories can help you optimize the camera's field of view for your specific installation location. Choose the appropriate mount based on whether you need to adjust the vertical or horizontal angle of your doorbell camera.
For optimal installation, below you'll find step-by-step instructions for each mounting option:
