Important: This feature requires Blink app version 57.0 or higher. It is being rolled out over a two-week period, so customers with an active ai plan may not have access yet if the feature has not been enabled for their account.
Single Event Alerts is an AI feature that reduces notification clutter by combining similar alerts from the same camera within a set time period. Instead of receiving many notifications about the same ongoing activity (like a gardener mowing the lawn), you get one notification. Each individual event is still saved in your clip list, so you won't miss anything.
Important: When Single Event Alerts is turned on, there may be a brief delay in notifications as the system checks whether a new event is similar to a recent one.
Some examples of when Single Event Alerts groups notifications:
- Multiple motion alerts from the same camera triggered by the same person walking back and forth on your drive.
- Repeated notifications from a delivery vehicle parked near your camera.
- Ongoing activity from a pet or person in a fixed area.
Important:
- Requires an active Blink basic ai or plus ai plan.
- Only available in the US (excluding Illinois due to state legislation).
- Only available in English. The primary language must be set to English on your mobile device.
- Requires Blink Video Descriptions to be turned on. If you turn off Blink Video Descriptions, Single Event Alerts automatically turns off.
- Not compatible with Blink XT, XT2 and Indoor (1st Gen) cameras.
Managing Single Event Alerts
To turn this feature on or off:
- In the Blink app, tap Settings.
- Tap Blink ai features.
- Toggle Single Event Alerts on or off. This sets the alert for all your eligible devices.
To set this feature for only specific devices:
- Under "Single Event Alerts," tap Manage Settings.
- From the list of eligible devices, tap the box next to each device that you want to send Single Event Alerts.
- On the top-right, tap Save.
Note: Single Event Alerts requires Blink Video Descriptions to be turned on, otherwise devices won’t appear in the Single Event Alerts device list. If Blink Video Descriptions is already turned on, Single Event Alerts will automatically be active on any new cameras you add to your account.
Viewing your clips
With Single Event Alerts turned on, all recorded clips are still saved in your clip list, including events where a notification wasn’t sent.
To view your clips:
- In the Blink app, tap Clips.
- Scroll through your clip list to find your recordings.
- Tap a clip to play it.

Does Single Event Alerts delete any of my recordings?
No, Single Event Alerts only affects the notifications you receive. All motion events are still recorded and saved in your clip list.
DeleteWill I still get notified if someone rings my doorbell?
Yes. Doorbell press events are always delivered and aren’t affected by Single Event Alerts.
