Why is my pan-tilt movement slow or laggy?

If your Pan-Tilt camera is experiencing slow, laggy, or inconsistent pan and tilt movement:

Check your Wi-Fi connection
Pan-tilt commands are sent over Wi-Fi. A weak or congested connection can cause delays of 5 or more seconds between your input and the camera's movement. Verify your Wi-Fi signal strength in Device Settings > General Settings. Move the camera closer to your router if signal is weak.

Restart the camera
Power cycle the camera by unplugging it for 10 seconds and plugging it back in. The camera will perform a calibration sequence upon restart.

Allow the camera to complete its calibration
When the camera powers on or resets, it performs an automatic pan-and-tilt calibration. Do not attempt to send pan-tilt commands until this calibration is complete.

You can adjust the motion detection range of your Mini Pan-Tilt 2K+ using the Motion sensitivity slider in the Blink app. Lowering the motion sensitivity decreases the detection range, which helps reduce false alerts. If your camera is not detecting motion events, try increasing the motion sensitivity.

Motion sensitivity settings are:

  • Off: Motion detection is disabled.
  • Low: Detects motion at a shorter range.
  • Medium: The default, balanced detection range suitable for most environments.
  • High: Detects motion at the maximum range (up to 14 m / 46 ft).

To adjust sensitivity:

  1. In the Blink app, tap More (...) on your camera thumbnail.
  2. Tap Device Settings > Motion Settings.
  3. Use the Motion sensitivity slider to select Off, Low, Medium, or High.

Outdoor setup (wall-mount bracket)
If you're having trouble with the outdoor wall-mount bracket:

Camera not attaching to bracket
The camera uses a slide-to-connect mechanism to attach to the mounting bracket. Align the camera with the bracket and slide it firmly into place until you hear or feel a click.

Power cable routing
When using the outdoor wall-mount bracket, route the power cable through the designated cable channel on the bracket before attaching the camera. Ensure the cable is fully seated in the channel to avoid interference with the mount.

Bracket stability
Ensure the bracket is securely fastened to the wall using the provided screws and anchors. Use appropriate wall anchors for your wall type (drywall, brick, wood, etc.).
