Sync Module requirements for Blink devices

A Sync Module is a hub that plugs into an electrical socket to relay commands and network details to devices in the system it manages. It connects to your Wi-Fi network to handle activity for up to ten Blink devices. The Sync Module 2 enables you to save clips without a subscription, with eligible devices (Blink Outdoor 4, Wired Floodlight, Video Doorbell, Blink Indoor and Outdoor (3rd Gen) and Mini cameras). It also improves convenience for scheduling and arms a group of devices at once. For an optimal experience, using a Sync Module with Blink devices is recommended.

Sync Modules provide the following benefits:

  • Connects up to ten of any Blink Outdoor 4, Wired Floodlight, Outdoor and Indoor (all models), Video Doorbell, Mini, Mini 2, XT2 and XT cameras in a single system.
  • Supports local video storage for up to ten eligible Blink cameras in a system (using a Sync Module 2), when you insert a USB flash drive (up to 256 GB, sold separately).

The Blink Wired Floodlight, Video Doorbell and Mini cameras don’t require a Sync Module. These devices are capable of creating and managing their own systems, or they can be added to existing systems that use a Sync Module.

Note: When a Video Doorbell is not on a Sync Module or connected to chime wiring, it will operate in Event Response Mode.

The following table shows all Blink devices that must use a Sync Module vs devices that don’t require one.

* Eligible for Local Storage.
