The Blink Wired Floodlight camera is a hardwired floodlight and camera that connects to your Wi-Fi and brings you 1080p HD video, Two-Way Audio and Live View in the Blink mobile app. The Wired Floodlight camera features 2600 lumens of LED lighting, night view in colour, Enhanced Motion Detection and a Siren.

Can I install the Wired Floodlight camera myself or do I need an electrician?

You can set up the Wired Floodlight camera yourself by following the included instructions. If you cannot easily identify the wires coming out of your electrical box or have difficulty or are uncomfortable in any way connecting them, consult a licensed electrician. Refer to your local laws and building codes before performing electrical work; permits and professional installation may be required by law.

Which wires are required to be in my electrical box for installation of the Wired Floodlight camera?

You should see one black wire (for live), one white wire (for neutral) and one bare metal or green wire (for earth).

What type of electrical box is required for installation?

To mount the Floodlight, you’ll need a 4-inch round, UL listed, weatherproof electrical box (not included with the mounting kit). Underwriter’s Laboratory or ‘UL’ is an international safety standards testing laboratory recognised by the US Government. Being UL listed earns the ‘UL’ mark, which means UL found that the product complied with all required standards for safe operation.

Yes, using the Settings in the Blink app, you can arm and enable your camera for Motion Detection.

Person Detection is available using embedded computer vision (CV) as part of an optional Blink Subscription Plan (sold separately).

Does the Wired Floodlight camera require a Sync Module?

No, the Wired Floodlight camera connects to your home’s Wi-Fi network and doesn’t require a Sync Module (sold separately). However, you can add the Wired Floodlight camera to your existing system that uses a Sync Module. Additionally, you can use Local Storage to save your clips on a USB drive with a Sync Module 2 (each sold separately).

Can I set up the Wired Floodlight camera on my existing system/Sync Module?

Yes, the Wired Floodlight camera can be added to your existing Blink system. It is compatible with both generations of the Sync Module.

Does the Wired Floodlight camera come with a trial of Cloud Storage?

Yes, the Wired Floodlight camera comes with a 30-day trial of a Blink Subscription Plan at no cost. You can then purchase a Subscription Plan or use Local Storage to save your clips on a USB drive with a Sync Module 2 (each sold separately). With a Blink Subscription Plan, you’ll have access to features such as Extended Live View and Person Detection.

Yes, your Blink Wired Floodlight camera can be used with Alexa to watch live views, arm and disarm the camera and turn the floodlight on and off. Yes, the Wired Floodlight camera can be mounted on a wall, covered ceiling, eaves or soffit as long as a 4-inch round, UL listed, weatherproof electrical box is available.
