What is Blink Mini?

The Blink Mini is an indoor, plug-in, HD security camera with two-way talk and infrared night vision that is connected to you through the Blink app. You can monitor the inside of your home from anywhere, day or night. Blink Mini also includes two video storage options; subscription-based cloud storage, or Local Storage with the Blink Sync Module 2.


Can I purchase Mini?

US/CA - Blink Mini is available to order in the US and CA. You can go to Amazon.com or Amazon.ca to place your order.
UK/EU – You can purchase through Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.es, Amazon.fr, Amazon.it, and Amazon.nl.

Does Mini require a Sync module to work?

No, Mini just requires 5 volt, 1amp, standard USB power through the included adapter, and an always-on Wi-Fi internet connection. Mini does not need a sync module; however, it can be added to an existing system that uses one for shared scheduling. You can also add Mini to a doorbell system.

I own another Blink system, will Blink Mini work with this?

Yes, Mini can be added to your existing Blink System. Out of deep appreciation for our existing customers, if you had an account on April 15, 2020 or before, media storage for your Mini operates just like the other camera systems you already have.

How do I arm my Mini to record motion?

Once your Mini is set up, you can Arm and Disarm it from the Blink app Home screen. Mini camera settings allow you to control if clips are saved, when you are notified, and what kinds of events create a notification. Click below for more information.

Is Mini Alexa compatible?

Yes, you can view live streams, playback motion clips, and arm/disarm your camera when you enable the Blink SmartHome skill. Click to learn about Alexa integration.

How does the subscription plan work?

In addition to the live view and motion alert features that come with every Blink Mini, you can choose to record and store video clips conveniently in the cloud with the Blink Subscription Plan. Learn more here

When you are within the last 30 days of your free trial period, you will see a banner on the home screen of your app that shows the remaining days of your trial period. Additionally, you will receive an email regarding the remaining days of your trial, with links to assist you with purchasing a subscription plan.

Do I get a free trial of the subscription plan?

Yes, new customers (as of April 16, 2020) automatically receive an extended free trial of the subscription plan when they onboard a Blink Mini camera. All customers will receive a minimum of a 30-day free trial.*

What does the subscription plan include?

Your subscription plan includes cloud storage to save video clips and Live Views. Learn more here about our subscription plan offerings and additional benefits.

What if I don’t want to subscribe to the subscription plan, or use local storage?

By itself, the Mini can provide Live View and send you motion alerts that delete immediately upon viewing.

How does local storage work?

When available, customers can purchase the Blink Sync Module 2 and USB flash drive (both sold separately) to record and store video for later viewing in the Blink app or directly from the flash drive when you plug it into your computer or other device. To learn more, visit here.

When will local storage be available?

The Blink Sync Module 2 is available now. When your Mini is not part of a Blink Subscription or free trial, and a recognized USB drive is inserted into the Sync Module 2, your motion clips automatically begin saving to the USB drive.

The USB drive must be between 1GB and 256 GB in size with at least 370 Mb of space available, and ExFAT formatting is suggested. If the USB drive is not compatible, the Blink app asks if you would like to reformat the drive.

Are my other cameras compatible with the local storage functionality?

In addition to Blink Mini, the new Blink Indoor (gen 2) and Outdoor cameras also support local storage on the Sync Module 2. Click to learn more about Local Storage.

I just purchased the Blink XT2 or Indoor Camera, can I exchange?

If you are within 30-days of purchase you can return your XT2 or Indoor camera/system for a full refund.

Can I extend my Live View sessions since Mini is powered by a USB cable?

Yes! Blink Subscription Plans enable many premium features including Extended Live View (Beta) - exclusively for Blink Mini cameras. This new feature provides images and sound directly from a Mini to the Blink app, up to 90 minutes at a time without user intervention. In addition, you can view regular Live View sessions up to five minutes without tapping on "Continue".

When using your Mini camera without a Blink Subscription Plan, you must tap "Continue" every 60 seconds in Live View and your total session length is limited to five minutes. When using an Alexa compatible device, the five minute Live View session can be watched without having to tap "Continue".
