What's the difference between wired and wireless installation?

Wireless (battery only): Powered by three AA lithium batteries, no wiring required, easiest installation.

Wired: Connected to existing doorbell wiring (US:12-24VAC - EU/UK: 8-24VAC), batteries provide backup power, enables "Always On" LED options. 

Both installation types require batteries. 

Can I use my existing mechanical chime?

Battery Doorbell 2K+ captures video at up to 1920x1920 pixels (2K resolution) at 24 frames per second (FPS), providing significantly clearer detail than standard 1080p doorbells. Combined with Local Tone Mapping (LTM) for improved dynamic range, you'll see better detail in both bright and shadowed areas.

How does Battery Doorbell 2K+ handle different lighting conditions?

The Battery Doorbell 2K+ automatically balances bright and dark areas in the same frame, so you can clearly see details in both shadows and highlights at the same time.

Which video resolution options are available?

Battery Doorbell 2K+ offers three quality settings:

• Best: 1920x1920 pixels (~2K resolution) at 24 FPS - Default setting.
• Standard: 1440x1440 pixels (~1080p) at 24 FPS.
• Saver: 960x960 pixels (~720p) at 15 FPS.

Higher resolutions provide better video clarity but may reduce battery life. You can change this setting anytime in the Blink app under Device Settings > Video and Photo Quality.

What field of view does the camera provide?

How far can the camera see at night?

The infrared night vision illuminates up to 33 feet (10 meters) from the doorbell, allowing clear visibility of visitors even in complete darkness using infrared wavelength.

What is IR Intensity and how do I adjust it?

IR (Infrared) Intensity controls the brightness of night vision illumination:

• Low: Default for battery-powered operation, conserves power.
• Medium: Balanced brightness and battery usage.
• High: Maximum illumination, default when wired, provides best night vision up to 33 feet (10 meters).

You can set the clip length from 5 to 30 seconds (default is 10 seconds). You can also activate "End Clip Early if Motion Stops" to conserve battery and storage by stopping recording when motion ceases.

Which types of motion can Battery Doorbell 2K+ detect?

Battery Doorbell 2K+ uses a single digital PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor combined with computer vision for motion verification. With an active Blink Subscription Plan, the doorbell supports:

• Person Detection: Identifies people and sends person-specific notifications.
• Vehicle Detection: Detects moving vehicles both indoors (garage) and outdoors, sending vehicle-specific alerts.

The Battery Doorbell 2K+ can detect motion up to 33 feet (10 meters) for cross-detection and over 6.5 feet (2 meters) for approach-detection when mounted at the recommended height of 3.9 to 4.9 feet (1.2 to 1.5 meters).

Does motion detection work at night?

Yes. Motion detection works in any lighting condition during daytime, dusk, nighttime, and dawn. With IR mode off, nighttime motion detection may be impacted.

How do I confirm if motion notifications are turned on?

To receive motion notifications on your mobile device, ensure that Motion Detection is turned on:

1. Arm your Blink system.
2. Enable Motion Detection:
   • From the Home Screen, tap the More (...) button on your Battery Doorbell 2K+ thumbnail.

Which subscription options are available?

Battery Doorbell 2K+ includes a Blink Plus plan trial at no cost. Afterward, choose between Basic or Plus plans for cloud storage and premium features. The trial is not available for existing Plus plan subscribers, who receive automatic coverage for their doorbell.

What's included in the no-cost trial?

The no-cost trial includes the following for all Blink devices on your account:

How do I remove the Battery Doorbell 2K+ from the wall plate?

The Battery Doorbell 2K+ can be released from the wall plate by using the provided doorbell removal tool or a common flat-head screwdriver. The release mechanism is located on the bottom of the doorbell.

Is the doorbell weather resistant?

Yes. Battery Doorbell 2K+ has an IP-65 rating for protection against rain, dust, cold, and heat within normal temperature ranges.

What is the operating temperature range?

Operating temperatures range from -5°F to 113°F (-20° to 45°C).

How do I reset the Battery Doorbell 2K+?

The Battery Doorbell 2K+ includes a physical reset button located on the back of the device. A short press will power cycle the device, while a long press will revert it to factory firmware.

What if I need to factory reset?

You can factory reset the Battery Doorbell 2K+ through the Blink app or by using the physical reset button on the back of the device. A factory reset will restore the device to its original factory settings and remove all stored content.

How do I delete my Battery Doorbell 2K+ from my list of devices?

To delete your Battery Doorbell 2K+ in the Blink app:

1. In the Home Screen, tap the More (...) button on your Battery Doorbell 2K+ thumbnail.
2. Tap Device Settings.
3. Tap General Settings. 
4. Confirm deletion by tapping Delete Device.

You will receive an email confirmation once the device is deleted. To reconnect, add the doorbell back to your Blink account..
