Note: Batteries are required to be installed into the doorbell even if you are using a wired connection.
Completing the Mount with wiring doorbell installation
-
Once the Blink Video Doorbell has been added to your system and you have chosen to complete a wired connection, the following screen appears in the Blink app. When you have the required items (the Blink Video Doorbell kit, a power drill, and tape), tap Continue.
-
Confirm your chime fits within these limits: 16 - 24 volts AC at 50 - 60Hz, and 40VA maximum. If your chime system has less than 16 VAC, it will activate the chime when the doorbell is pressed, but your system enters Event Response mode.
-
Tap Agree and Continue and follow the in-app instructions to turn off electric power to the doorbell and chime and then tap Continue.
-
Continue to follow the in-app instructions and remove your old doorbell. Corrosion and weathering can prevent the wires from conducting electricity. If corrosion is present on the wires, clean wires as needed.

Are you installing a wedge or corner mount to adjust the camera angle? If no, skip to step 7.
Connect the wires coming out of your wall to the screws on the back of your Blink Video Doorbell. If you have trouble connecting the wires coming out of your wall to the back your doorbell, use the provided wire extensions and wire nuts. I doesn't matter which wire connects to which screw. Tug gently on the wires to make sure the wire connection is secure.
Installing a Wedge or Corner mount
If you wish to install a wedge or corner mount to adjust your camera view, use the template from your doorbell to drill the mounting holes, and use the included shortened screws to connect the camera's back plate to the mount.
Tap Yes in the Blink app for instructions to install the wedge or corner mount. To switch the view angle from one side to the other, turn the whole mount 180º.
This articles describes how to install a wedge or corner mount for your Blink Video Doorbell.
Viewing angles
The camera in the doorbell has a field of view pointing straight out from the mounting surface. If the image does not capture the desired view, a Wedge Mount offers a 5° vertical tilt and a Corner Mount offers 25° horizontal tilt.

How to Install the Wedge or Corner Mount
1. Choose your mounting spot.
While looking through Live View in the Blink app, adjust your video doorbell's position along your wall and location to get the view you want. Make a mark with a pencil where you want it to be located.
We recommend choosing a spot approximately 46-48 inches (102 -122cm) above the ground.
2. Drill mounting holes.
The included paper template works for both the mounts and the doorbell. Using the pencil marks where you want to place your doorbell, tape the paper template in place. If you want to use the wiring from a doorbell you already have, place the template so that the wires will reach through the central open area of the wedge.
3. Screw the wedge/corner mount accessory into your wall.
The Wedge and Corner Mount accessories ship with a pair of shortened all-purpose screws. These screws are used to secure the doorbell's back plate to the accessory. Use the pointed, regular-length screws to secure the accessory to your wall or surface.
4. Screw the back plate into the mount using the top and bottom holes.
4a (optional). If you're using your existing doorbell's wires, screw these wires into the back of the doorbell after screwing the back plate into the mount.
5. Attach the doorbell and test.
Mount the doorbell and power on
Note: If your back plate has pins, use caution when securing the doorbell.
- Align the top edge of your doorbell to the back plate.
- Push it firmly against the back plate until you hear and feel a slight click to confirm it is secure. The doorbell is now secure and can only be removed by inserting the pin tool at the bottom of it.
- Next, you turn the power back on and continue to follow the in-app instructions.
Note: If the power level is not compatible, your doorbell will default to Event Response mode. Tap Continue. - Next, you are asked to select whether you have a mechanical or digital chime. A mechanical chime makes sound by a physical hammer striking a metal bell or bar. A digital chime plays an electronic recording. Once identified, select your chime and tap Continue.

If the connection is successful, tap Done. Your Blink Video Doorbell is ready to be used.
