How do I activate purchased Blink Subscription Plans?

You can activate Blink Subscription Plans you’ve already purchased with the following steps:

  1. Link your Blink and Amazon accounts in the Blink app. Note: If you purchased a Plus Plan, it will automatically attach to all your Blink devices when you link your accounts.
  2. If you purchased Basic Plans, you can attach them in the Blink app by tapping Settings in the lower right of the screen and select Blink Plans.
  3. Next, tap on Manage Blink Plans to view all your available plans and devices for attachment.
  4. You can also visit Your Memberships & Subscriptions to activate your plans.

I cannot link my Amazon account to my Blink account.

  Your Amazon account can use your phone number or email address as your default login. When you link your Amazon and Blink accounts, you must use your default method (email or phone) when logging into your Amazon account.

If you see an error message, such as ‘Failed to link accounts’, you may have a different Blink account that was linked to your Amazon account at some point when you created your Blink account.

Another reason could be that you’re entering the login for a different Amazon account, which is not the same one used for your Blink account. In addition, you cannot link more than one Blink account to an Amazon account. Learn more about linking your accounts.

How to resolve linking to the wrong Amazon account

If you link to the wrong Amazon account, your purchased subscription plans won’t be active and you’ll lose all of your subscription benefits when your free trial ends. You can view and manage your subscriptions on the Your Memberships & Subscriptions page on Amazon if you need verification of which account was used to purchase your plans.

Once you determine your correct Amazon by checking your Amazon account settings and the Your Memberships & Subscriptions page, you’ll need to unlink your Amazon account. After your accounts have been successfully unlinked, link your Blink account to the Amazon account you used to purchase your subscription plan. When I try to use the mobile Amazon Marketplace app to purchase subscriptions, I see an ‘Unavailable in App’ message.

  • Subscriptions cannot be purchased on the mobile Amazon marketplace app. 
  • You must use the Amazon web version on your mobile device to purchase a subscription. 
  • If you’re using at least iOS 14 on a device, you can press and hold purchase links until more options appear and then select ‘Open in New Tab’, which opens in your browser instead of the Amazon app.

I see an ‘Attach currently unavailable’ message.

If you receive this error and all of your credit card payment and address information is correct in your Amazon account, wait a few minutes and try the attachment process again, since the cause could be a delay on Amazon. Refreshing the page or signing out and into your Amazon account again and then attaching the plan may also resolve this issue. You’ll receive a confirmation email from Amazon after the delay regarding your attachment.

You have the option to change your subscription email preferences on Amazon. By default, the email address you used to create your account will be used for all communications from Amazon; however, you can change your email to a different address. If you don’t see your Blink devices available for attachment, then you may not be logged into or linked to the same Amazon account you used to purchase your plan. It is important that your Subscription Plan is purchased using the same Amazon account that is linked to your Blink account. Learn more about purchasing a Blink Subscription Plan.

I see a message ‘Missing default address or purchase preference’ when purchasing or attaching a Subscription Plan.

If you don’t have a default address or purchase preference set up in your Amazon account, you cannot purchase or attach a Blink Subscription Plan. You can access and manage your default address and purchase preferences on Your Payments page of your Amazon account.

I receive an error message about my region when purchasing a Subscription Plan.

This can occur if your Amazon.com.au account has a non-AU country of record or your payment billing address is non-AU. Currently you must have a valid AU address in order to purchase a subscription plan.
You can resolve this by updating your address and payment billing address as follows:

  1. Visit Amazon Manage Your Content and Devices
  2. On the Preferences tab, beneath Country/Region Settings, select the "Change your country/region" link.
  3. Click the Change button and select United States from the country drop-down menu.
  4. Recreate your home address and delete the old one.
  5. Purchase a new subscription plan.

I see a ‘Missing Payment Method’ error when trying to attach a Blink Subscription Plan.

There must be a valid payment method in your Amazon.com.au account. If you don’t have a valid payment method in your Amazon account, you cannot purchase or attach a Blink Subscription Plan. You can access and manage your payment methods on the Your Payments page of your Amazon account.

How do I update my Wallet payment information in my Amazon account?

If you have a problem with renewing or continuing payments for your Blink Subscription Plan, you may need to update the payment information in your Wallet in your Amazon account. Issues such as expired credit cards, insufficient funds on debit cards or cards declined for other reasons, can be resolved by entering a valid payment method in your Amazon account.

Note: Amazon Store Cards and Amazon Secured Cards cannot be used to purchase Blink subscriptions.

How do I activate purchased Blink Subscription Plans?

You can activate Blink Subscription Plans you've already purchased with the following steps:

  1. Link your Blink and Amazon accounts in the Blink app. Note: If you purchased a Plus plan, it will automatically attach to all your Blink devices when you link your accounts.
  2. If you purchased Basic plans, you can attach them in the Blink app by tapping Settings at the bottom right of the screen and select Blink Plans.
  3. Next, tap on Manage Blink Plans to view all your available plans and devices for attachment.
  4. You can also visit Your Memberships & Subscriptions to activate your plans.

I can't link my Amazon account to my Blink account.

  Your Amazon account can use your phone number or email address as your default login. When you link your Amazon and Blink accounts, you must use your default method (email or phone) when logging into your Amazon account.

If you see an error message such as "Failed to link accounts", you may have a different Blink account which was linked to your Amazon account at some point when you created your Blink account.

Another reason could be you are entering the login for a different Amazon.com.mx account, which is not the same one used for your Blink account. In addition, you can't link more than one Blink account to an Amazon account. Learn more about linking your accounts.

How to resolve linking to the wrong Amazon.com.mx account

If you link to the wrong Amazon account, your purchased subscription plans will not be active and you will lose all of your subscription benefits when your free trial ends. You can view and manage your subscriptions on the Your Memberships & Subscriptions page on Amazon, if you need verification of which account was used to purchase your plans.

Once you determine your correct Amazon by checking your Amazon account settings and the Your Memberships & Subscriptions page, you will need to unlink your Amazon account. After your accounts are successfully unlinked, link your Blink account to the Amazon account you used to purchase your subscription plan. Learn more about unlinking your Blink and Amazon accounts.

When I try to use the mobile Amazon Marketplace app to purchase subscriptions, I see an "Unavailable in App" message.

  • Subscriptions cannot be purchased on the mobile Amazon marketplace app. 
  • You must use the Amazon.com.mx web version on your mobile device to purchase a subscription. 
  • If you are using at least iOS 14 on a device, you can press and hold purchase links until more options appear and then select “Open in New Tab” which opens in your browser instead of the Amazon app.
